Nice girls don't ask
In the Gender IQ series we strive to give you practical tools that you can use immediately to increase your effectiveness at work. In this webcast we ask ‘Can ‘Nice Girls’ Negotiate?’ It has often been said that women hurt themselves by not trying to negotiate but also that both men and women subtly penalise women who do ask for more, the perception being that women who ask are ‘less nice’. There is a social cost to women in asking or negotiating and in this webcast we look at societal pressures as well as biology with some great advice from John Donovan, Vice-President Private Sector, Cisco UK & Ireland on successful negotiating tactics.
